Congratulations to the “Monaco Impi’s” rugby sevens team

Congratulation letter from Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco:

“Thanks to the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, the Princess of Monaco Foundation, and other sponsors, the “Monaco Impi’s” rugby sevens team has victoriously participated in the 1883 Centenary Cup Competition of the Melrose Sevens this Saturday, April 8.

The name of Monaco Impi’s will be forever linked to the Melrose Sevens with all other prestigious winners of this mythic tournament.

The Melrose Sevens is a historic competition since 1883 as it is being recognized as the very first tournament in the world to include sevens rugby.

For this mythical tournament, the Impi’s (“warriors” in Zulu) wore the colours of the Monegasque Rugby Federation and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

Since their inception in 2017, the Monaco Impi’s have participated in several editions of the Emirates Dubai 7s Tournament and has partaken for the first time in a European tournament.

Congratulations to the players, the staff, and the sponsors!”
