Elafonisos is a Greek island between the Peloponnese and Kythira island and the only inhabited island belonging to the Peloponnese region with a separate municipality.
The island has recorded history in which you can find Pablo Petri from about 5.000 years ago. During the ancient Athenian-Spartan battles that occurred during the Peloponnesian war also Elafonisos was mentioned. Today, it’s renowned for its exotic beaches of Simos/Sarakiniko plus the submerged archeological remains of Pavlopetri, the Stroggyli Lagoon, and the Simos cave.
ELAFONISOS ECO  ASSOCIATION
Elafonisos Eco Association is a non-profit Environmental Conservation Organization with social impact founded in 2013. Their goal is to transform Elafonisos into an Ecological island with sustainable development in order to improve the life quality of the residents, the visitors and the future generations ECO WEEK is now celebrating the 6th edition of the Eco-Sustainable Symposium. It is a series of events that the locals of Elafonisos embrace. We invite you to participate in this event that will set the future for protecting our territories alongside gastronomic and artistic activities.
